The
San Francisco Jazz Festival celebrates its 10th
annual Spring Series March 7 through June 21 with more
than 40 concerts, featuring a line-up of
international and national jazz masters, along with
artists representing the cutting edge in jazz.
Among
the artists performing at this year's
spring series are the Branford Marsalis Quartet;
pianists Ahmad Jamal, Brad Mehldau, Kenny
Barron, Allen Toussaint, Michael Wolff
and McCoy Tyner; singers Madeleine Peyroux, Mariza,
CéU and Michael Feinstein; guitarists Bill
Frisell, John Scofield, Kenny Burrell, Russell
Malone and Will Bernard; the Mingus Dynasty
with saxophonist John Handy; and Afrobeat sensation
Seun Kuti & Egypt 80.
