More than 1,000 artists and 100,000 music lovers converge for a weekend of fantastic musical diversity, tradition, and
innovation at the 22nd annual San Jose Jazz
Festival, Friday, August 12 through Sunday, August 14, in downtown San Jose.
The hottest weekend of the summer features a stellar lineup of international music stars and new discoveries playing straight-ahead jazz, blues, salsa,
Latin and more on 10+ stages and venues over three days, the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest transforms the heart of the downtown
area with grooves, food and family fun.
Headlining artists for the 2011 San Jose Jazz Festival include
Dave Koz, Mavis Staples, Arturo Sandoval, John Santos, Ramsey Lewis, Trombone Shorty,
and DMS featuring George Duke, Marcus Miller and David Sanborn.
There's also plenty of local talent on hand this
year, among them Doug Beavers and his Titanes del Trombon, the Ron Garrifo Orchestra, the Sylvia Cuenca Organ
Trio, the Michael O'Neal Quartet with Kenny Washington, Ray Obiedo & The Urban Latin Jazz Project,
the Wayne Wallace Latin Jazz Quintet, Octobop, the Mads Tolling Quartet, Claudia Villela, and the Shotgun
Wedding Quintet.
