As we settle into a new year for jazz here in Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area, I wanted to thank everyone in the jazz community for all your fantastic support of the JazzWest website... this year, and since we first went online back in 1999! We've already started working on our Calendar of live jazz events here in the Bay Area for 2013... and if you take a look at
what's coming up, you may notice that there aren't quite as many listings (yet, at least) as usual. Over the years, we've been posting most of the calendar updates on behalf of all our musicians friends as well as club and concert hall venues, promoters, and other folks who contribute to
the incredibly rich jazz scene we have in our own neighborhoods. Now, we're asking YOU — musicians, clubs, concert halls, restaurants, bars, lounges, and other presenting organizations in the jazz community — to help us out by
posting your upcoming gigs directly into the JazzWest
Calendar. It's
also a challenge keeping up with the hundreds of venues offering live jazz around the Bay. Did we miss someplace? Please... let
us know! There are a few other
things you can do to help us continue our mission of supporting live jazz here in the Bay Area:
- Help spread the word about
JazzWest.com to all your jazz-loving (and jazz-curious) friends and colleagues
- Let your favorite musicians know about
the website (in case they don't already), and be sure to check out the JazzWest
Directory... we're always discovering new musicians here in town!
- Let potential advertisers know about
our website. We don't have a staff of marketing and sales people, but every nickel and dime we earn through online advertising
helps to cover our costs for web hosting, development, and all those incidental expenses involved in running a website such as
JazzWest.com
- Contribute your talents and expertise.
We're always looking for jazz-savvy writers, bloggers and photographers who'd like to contribute to our website and our
community. Visit our Contribute page for
more...
Since launching JazzWest.com in 1999, it's been
our goal to provide a one-stop shop for all things jazz in Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area. With your continued
support, we hope to keep things moving into an exciting and jazz-filled future!
Wishing you all peace, love and jazz for the
holidays and the new year.
